The LawyeredUp Story.

Since 2020, Lawyered Up has gone from being an idea, to the final stages of completion, thanks to securing R5 million funding from an undisclosed investor. Barrat is in talks with another investor and a second funding deal will possibly be signed soon.

The app offers over 100 listed attorneys for pro-bono GBV assistance, and has a database of 250 individuals signed up to test the application and download once it launches.

The founder of LawyeredUp is Serisha Barrat. She is the CEO of the company and its driving force in creating an impact in society. Serisha is an active serial entrepreneur and female tech star in the tech industry, representing women entrepreneurs and tech founders in a number of organizations. Having been selected as a semi-finalist for Forbes Africa 30 under 30 in 2022, Serisha was accepted into the Grindstone incubator program in 2022, awarded Top 50 Influential Global Leaders Award in Dubai in 2022 and pitched at all AfricaRena’s Tech4Good pitches in 2021 and 2022.
